About Castlemaine Health

Castlemaine Health offers a comprehensive range of hospital and healthcare services and is a registered NDIS provider.

Their services range from medical, surgical, midwifery, rehabilitation, hostel, aged care, allied health and a range of outreach services are provided to a population of 17,000 in the Shire of Mount Alexander. Assessment and Rehabilitation services are also provided to the neighbouring Shires of Central Goldfields and Macedon Ranges, reaching a combined population of over 60,000. 

Castlemaine Health is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and the Commonwealth Aged Care Residential Standards Agency.

The Challenge

Castlemaine Health initially came across Snapforms via running a procurement process looking for secure and Australian based form providers. Originally operating with a snail mail process for their form processing, turnaround times could be lengthy with many people put off by having to find a stamp and physical postbox to send. 

Data needed to be transcribed from handwritten forms with transcription and data-entry errors happening when information was unclear. The overhead of managing this process as well as the risk of incorrectly capturing critical patient data meant finding a digital solution was increasingly more important in the traditionally offline world of hospitals and medical practices.

Snapforms as a Solution

After running their procurement process, Castlemaine Health decided to implement Snapforms as their solution across a number of forms, but primarily their surgery pre admission forms.

Replicating the long pre admission forms from offline paper to an online digital form was initially a daunting proposition and thus another requirement was local support that could help get the process off the ground and be as successful as possible from the outset.
