Physical Security

Snapforms is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure located in Australia. We have made a strategic choice to use the world’s leading cloud IT infrastructure provider who provides a high performing, robust and secure infrastructure set to meet the needs of our users.

The Amazon data centres are state of the art, utilising innovative architectural and engineering approaches. Amazon has many years of experience in designing, constructing, and operating large-scale data centres. This experience has been applied to the AWS platform and infrastructure. AWS data centres are housed in nondescript facilities. Physical access is strictly controlled both at the perimeter and at building ingress points by professional security staff utilising video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and other electronic means. Authorised staff must pass two-factor authentication a minimum of two times to access data centre floors. All visitors and contractors are required to present identification and are signed in and continually escorted by authorised staff. AWS only provides data centre access and information to employees and contractors who have a legitimate business need for such privileges. When an employee no longer has a business need for these privileges, his or her access is immediately revoked, even if they continue to be an employee of Amazon or Amazon Web Services. All physical access to data centres by AWS employees is logged and audited routinely.

Our information hosting provider maintains several compliance certifications including ISO 27001, SOC1, SOC2, SOC3, PCI DSS, IRAP, ISO 9001, CSA, ICO 27017, ISO 27018.

Data is encrypted at rest. All submission data is disk encrypted under AES-256.

Network Security

Our network security helps protect your data against the most sophisticated electronic attacks. For security reasons, an intentionally general summary of our network security practices includes:

  • Secure Communication: All data transmission to Snapforms services are encrypted using TLS 1.2 protocols, and we use certificates issued by SHA 256 based CA ensuring that our users have a secure connection from their browsers to our service.
  • IDS/IPS: Our network is gated and screened by highly powerful and certified Intrusion Detection / Intrusion Prevention Systems.
  • Control and Audit: All accesses are controlled and also audited.
  • Virus Scanning: Traffic coming into Snapforms Servers is automatically scanned for harmful viruses using state of the art virus scanning protocols which are updated regularly.

Application Security

We employ only best practice coding and have constructed Snapforms so that every account is isolated. We have safeguards and logging in place to detect common attacks such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting, cross site request forgery and more. We also actively review our code for potential security concerns, vulnerabilities and evaluate all user feedback. We are bound to our privacy policy, which ensures your data is not misused.

Spam Prevention

Automated spam is an issue for online forms and is a major annoyance to many administrators. Our suite of tools including Captcha integration give you the ability to ensure your users are human.

Redundancy and Business Continuity

One of the fundamental philosophies of cloud computing is the acknowledgment that computer resources will at some point fail. We have designed our systems and infrastructure with that in mind.

  • ‘High Availability’ Architecture: Snapforms services have been built with reliability, fault tolerance and high availability in mind. That means a server can fail without a noticeable impact or downtime on the system or our services.
  • Power Redundancy: The AWS data centre electrical power systems are designed to be fully redundant and maintainable without impact to operations, 24 hours a day, and seven days a week. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units provide back-up power in the event of an electrical failure for critical and essential loads in the facility. Data centres use generators to provide back-up power for the entire facility.
  • Redundant Cooling and Temperature: Climate control is required to maintain a constant operating temperature for servers and other hardware, which prevents overheating and reduces the possibility of service outages. AWS data centres are conditioned to maintain atmospheric conditions at optimal levels. Personnel and systems monitor and control temperature and humidity at appropriate levels.
  • Fire Prevention: Automatic fire detection and suppression equipment has been installed at AWS data centres to reduce risk. The fire detection system utilises smoke detection sensors in all data centre environments, mechanical and electrical infrastructure spaces, chiller rooms and generator equipment rooms. These areas are protected by either wet-pipe, double-interlocked pre-action, or gaseous sprinkler systems.
  • Data Protection & Back-up: User data is backed-up periodically across multiple servers in Australia, helping protect the data in the event of hardware failure or disaster.
