Why Australian teams choose Snapforms
An Australian team builds it with you
Snapforms includes an Australian team who will design and build your forms with you, migrate what you already have, and stay available once you are live. Implementation is part of what you buy rather than a service you arrange separately.
Australian by default, nothing to configure
Snapforms is Australian by default, with no region to choose at signup and nothing to get wrong. Your data location is a property of the product, not a decision made during registration.
A focused form product
Snapforms is a dedicated forms platform, so the product, the workflow and the support all come from the same place. You are buying a form builder rather than one module of a much wider suite.
Data location is not the difference here
Snapforms keeps Australian data in Australia on every plan, and so does Zoho: it runs a primary datacentre in Sydney and a secondary in Melbourne, and Australian sign-ups are allocated there automatically. The point worth verifying is the region in which your existing account was created. Zoho sets it from the country chosen at registration, and it shows in your URL: a zoho.com.au address means the Australian datacentre, while zoho.com means the United States.

- How to check your Zoho region
- A *.zoho.com.au URL is the Australian datacentre; *.zoho.com is the US Source

Snapforms vs Zoho Forms
Both products do the same core job: build a form, publish it, and collect and process the responses. These are the differences that matter for Australian teams.
Data location is not one of them: Zoho also keeps Australian data in Australia. The differences lie elsewhere.
| Feature | Snapforms | Zoho Forms |
|---|---|---|
| Australian data residency Zoho operates Australian datacentres and assigns them based on the country selected at signup. | Every plan, by default | Yes, Sydney primary and Melbourne secondary Source for Australian data residency |
| Changing data region later Zoho directs customers to email their migrations team to move between datacentres. | Not needed, always Australian | Manual cross-datacentre migration request Source for Changing data region later |
| Australian-based support team | Melbourne team, email and live chat, AEST business hours | Global support, primarily India-based Source for Australian-based support team |
| Done-for-you form builds and migration | Included in onboarding | Self-serve, or paid professional services Source for Done-for-you form builds and migration |
| Payments through Australian banks Zoho Forms lists Stripe, PayPal, 2Checkout, Razorpay, Authorize.Net, PayTM, Instamojo, PayTabs, Square, Paystack and Zoho Checkout. Its entry plan also caps payment submissions at 10 a month. | Australian banks and global gateways | Global gateways only, no Australian bank option Source for Payments through Australian banks |
| Legally binding e-signature Zoho Forms includes a drawn signature field, but turning a submission into a signed document runs through Zoho Sign and consumes credits per envelope. | Included, with a timestamped audit trail | Zoho Sign add-on, 5 credits per envelope Source for Legally binding e-signature |
| SMS notifications to Australian numbers | Built in | Bring your own gateway: Twilio, Clickatell or SMS Magic Source for SMS notifications to Australian numbers |
| Australian address autocomplete | Built in | Not offered natively Source for Australian address autocomplete |
| Conditional logic and calculations | Included | Included |
| Multi-level approval workflows | Included | Included Source for Multi-level approval workflows |
| Price Zoho competes on price and does so effectively. If budget is the deciding factor, Zoho is the stronger option. | From $89/month AUD | Materially cheaper, with a free tier |
| Breadth of connected apps If you already run Zoho CRM, Desk and Books, staying inside the suite is a genuine advantage. | Focused integrations plus API and webhooks | Deep integration with the whole Zoho suite |

Snapforms and Zoho Forms: common questions
Yes. Zoho operates a primary datacentre in Sydney and a secondary in Melbourne, and accounts registered with Australia as the country are allocated there. You can confirm your own account's region from the URL: zoho.com.au is the Australian datacentre, zoho.com is the United States.
Because of who is behind the product rather than where it is hosted. Snapforms is an Australian company with a local team who will build and migrate your forms, answer procurement and privacy questionnaires, and are available by email and live chat during Australian business hours. If you are comfortable self-serving on Zoho and already use the wider suite, remaining there is a reasonable decision.
It means your data is in Zoho's United States datacentre rather than Australia. Zoho does not offer a self-service switch. You have to request a cross-datacentre migration from their migrations team, which is a manual process.
Yes, as part of onboarding. Send us the form links or exports and our team will reproduce the fields, conditional logic, approvals and integrations.
From $89 per month billed monthly, or $81.58 per month billed annually, in Australian dollars. Zoho is cheaper. Our case rests on the local team and the hands-on implementation rather than on price.
